A Flavor Tasting: Wines & More!
Saturday, April 30, 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
You are cordially invited to take part in the third installment of the incredibly popular Allegheny West Wine Tour: A Flavor Tasting: Wines & Mores! – a guided progressive wine tasting through the 150-year old National Register-listed historic district located on Pittsburgh’s Northside April 30, 2011.
Guests will meet for the first wine and hors d’oeuvres course in a central location and continue the tour in groups of 20. A resident tour guide with in-depth knowledge of the neighborhood will escort each group through the entire wine tour.
Each house or garden on the tour will provide a unique setting for guests to enjoy a wine and hors d’oeuvres course. At four stops on the tour guest will be able to taste and compare several specialty foods including olive oils, salts, waters and chocolates. The tour starts at 4:00 p.m. and by 7:30 p.m. guests will have visited six houses or gardens and enjoyed a delightful variety of wines and specialty foods chosen just for this event.
Enjoy Argyros Atlantis White 2010, from Santorini island of Greece, a great compliment to the specialty olive oil tasting.
Linda Iannotta will be creating hors d’oeuvres that pair perfectly with Domaine Gravierette Jas de Provence 2009, from Provence.
And to accompany our gourmet chocolate tasting, we’ll sample some great American wines including St. Amant California Port 2006, Healdsburg Ranches Zinfandel 2009, from Sonoma and Gruet Brut Rose NV from New Mexico.
These wines have been chosen by local wine expert Milko Miladinov, a wine broker from Winebow Inc., a premier U.S. importer and distributor of an international portfolio of premium quality fine wines and spirits. Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about each wine from Mr. Miladinov.
Tickets are non-refundable. Free parking is available throughout the neighborhood.
More details including the specific wines and hors d’oeuvres menu will be available shortly.
